Match Results 2014 are in!

Please join me in welcoming the following new additions to our department and specialty!  Each of our newest incoming residents earned marks in the very tops of their dental school classes.  We are so very impressed and proud to welcome you all to the OHSU Orthodontic family!

Rachel Hoffman finishes her dental degree at Indiana next year.  She earned a Biology degree from Notre Dame.  She's following in the footsteps of one of our current first year residents who also came to Portland via Indiana.  In addition to an experienced background in research, Rachel enjoys running, hiking and skiing.

Kari Harnick completes her dental degree at UoP next year.  Kari has dental genes and experience!  She earned a BS in dental hygiene in 2012 before starting the dental program at UoP.  While her peers assumed she'd follow in her father's footsteps as an orthodontist, Kari wanted to be sure she explored several areas of dentistry.  Kari has spent a good bit of time working with the Special Olympics and also organized hygiene efforts with the NM Mission of Mercy.

Alissa Borda  earned a dental degree and an MPH from the Arizona School of Dentistry.  After earning her DMD, Alissa completed a GPR in Seattle, WA, at the VA.  While her mentors there practically forced her into a pros residency, fortunately for us, she held tough and pursued orthodontics.  Alissa is an avid distance runner who has over 60 races under her belt.

Adam Ward finishes his dental degree next year at OHSU.  He earned a Nutrition degree from BYU Utah in 2011.  Adam is a talented young man who speaks Spanish fluently.  He has traveled to Guatemala where he has treated children, working to make the world a better place through humanitarian efforts.  He's also served here locally at the Oregon Mission of Mercy.
